Aeron Energy Recovery Systems

AERON is an innovative leader at the forefront of development, showcased by the development of energy-efficient solutions such as the AERON Energy Recovery System – AERS, which is beneficial both for our customers and the environment. The AERON AERS system is designed to initially utilize all available energy from the air, water, engines, and other equipment as much as possible before employing new energy in the most efficient manner.

The heart of this system is one or more water-to-water Heat Pumps that utilize both the warm side for heating and the cold side for cooling when necessary. For heating purposes, the AERON AERS System first utilizes all the available energy from onboard equipment and stores this in water tanks. When this is insufficient, the heat pump will activate and use as much “free” energy from the sea or outside air as possible before the heat pump starts.

For air-conditioning and cooling purposes, the AERON AERS system initially harnesses free energy from the outside air and cold water in the sea. When necessary, the heat pump will start and produce more cold water for use in air conditioning and cooling of accommodation, as well as technical rooms and equipment.

The AERON AERS system will distribute warm and cold water throughout the vessel to different heating and cooling consumers onboard. One of the benefits of the AERON AERS System is that all systems are manufactured by AERON, ensuring seamless operation and synergy with in-house expertise. The AERON AERS System can be installed in both new constructions and retrofits, enabling you to reduce costs and emissions quickly.
